Mabaso Lodge is a newly found lodge, and is run by the owner, Johan Smit & his dedicated family!

The Lodge is situated 18km from the Sodwana Bay main beach entrance, now called Isimangaliso Wetland Park. This is all part of the greater St. Lucia Wetland’s park, and is a well renowned world heritage site, in the heart of Zulu Land!

The lodge is very private and have 24hr security with electric fencing.

There are 8 fully equipped houses and a traditional Zulu village with a swimming pool on the premises. See accommodation for details!

Directions to Mabaso Lodge

Sodwana Bay is situated in northern Kwa – Zulu Natal, South Africa.
We are approx 75 km south of the Mozambique border and our dive sites are situated within a marine protected area.

The closest town to us is Hluhluwe (82 km tar road) and Jozini (56km gravel road). Durban is 370 km (3.5 hours) south of us and Johannesburg is 640km ( 7 hours) west of us.

Mbazwane village is 5 km from Mabaso Lodge it has a Spar shop (shopping hrs 8 – 17 hours weekdays
And 9-13h Saturdays and Sundays)

Mabaso Lodge is situated outside the KZN Wildlife (Isimangaliso Wetland park)
After turning left at the village of Mbazwana on the Jozini road you drive 5 km on the right hand side of the road you will find the beautiful gate entrance to Mabaso Lodge.

The road is suitable for 4 x 4 and normal vehicles.

We are situated 10 minutes from Sodwana Bay boat launching site.
